It was fantastic to see 2 operational passenger IL-18′s at the same time in 2006. Both in active service. Both of these 2 IL-18′s are operated by the same airline. Mainly used for flights from Djibouti to various destinations inside Somalia.

The day before my flight I logged on to http://www.klm.com/ and did my check-in online. Smooth, no queues and I got to select my seat in the comfort of my home. I love that feature. It’s a pleasure to scroll back and forth in the cabinlayout searching for the best still available seat.

One of the great flights I’ve done was on an assignment filming YES L-1011 Tristar CS-TMX from Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic (PUJ) back to Lisbon, Portugal (LIS). The Tristar is a fantastic aircraft. Old, yes it is but she looks oh so good!
The first time I visited St Maarten, the beautiful island in the Caribbean was back in November 2000. I was on a photo assignment filming a flight to SXM from ORY on AOM’s DC-10 F-GHOI.
