During a holiday back in 2002, me and my wife drove past SJC airport on our way south from San Fransisco. As the spotter I am I took the opportunity for a few minutes of spotting.

JNB – Johannesburg Airport is one of my absolute favourites in the world. Since my first visit in April 1998, I am hooked. During a visit in 2002 I spent a lot of time airside shooting. The variety in traffic is fantastic. From the big widebodies to the regional Embrairs.

Back in 2002 I was fortunate to do a photo shoot with Nationwide in South Africa. I got to fly all of their different aircraft types in their fleet to many great destinations. What triggered me most was the flights I did on the Bac 1-11.
